Overview
Playful Kittens’ Artist Notebook began as an illustrated notebook concept and developed into a small physical product line. I designed the visual identity, custom acrylic covers, interior pages, and packaging as a cohesive system, balancing playful character illustration with the practical needs of a usable notebook. The finished notebooks were produced and sold at the MICA Art Market.
Process
I developed the notebook from illustration to physical production, first prototyping the acrylic covers through laser cutting and then refining the files for professional fabrication. Color, material, binding, and packaging were developed together as parts of a cohesive product system.
From Prototype to Production
After prototyping the cover with laser cutting, I refined the vector files for production and worked with a manufacturer to fabricate the final acrylic components.
Colorways & Product Variations
The final notebook series was produced in multiple color combinations, carrying the same illustrated cover system across each variation.

A minimal paper band leaves much of the notebook exposed, allowing customers to see and feel the materials while providing key product information at the Art Market.
